Live from Kabul

Roads are mostly empty and there is almost no traffic.

People are scared and they feel that the situation could get worse at any time, so most of the citizens are sitting at home.

Grocery stores are open and some people are coming to buy goods, but large shopping malls and other markets are still closed.

The value of the dollar has risen sharply in the past two days, and as Afghanistan's economy relies on imports, everything has become a little more expensive.

We don't have any restrictions and we can talk to people on the street, we can film them.

I did the same thing yesterday but today I thought I might not be allowed to do it. However, no one stopped me at work and no one asked what I was doing.

The Taliban are everywhere. They have also taken over the city's security and traffic system. They are present in every street corner and every square.

I asked them what they were doing and what is their purpose. According to him, they are on the verge of maintaining law and order in the city. They are searching vehicles on the roads, especially those carrying Taliban fighters.

When I asked, they told the vehicles were previously used by Afghan government officials and may have been seized by criminal elements.

No one knows what will happen next.

In a recent audio message, Mullah Yaqub, son of Mullah Mohammad Omar, founder of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Afghanistan, warned his fighters not to enter any citizen's home, and not to seize vehicle or anything else in all areas under their control, including Kabul.

"All Mujahideen have this instruction and message that no one is allowed to enter the house of any citizen, especially in Kabul where we have just entered. Do not enter the house of any citizen and do not capture anything from anyone.”

Mullah Yaqub further said that if a person takes a vehicle or a weapon from a citizen and hides it, it is 'treason'.

It should be noted that in recent days there have been incidents of theft and forcible snatching of vehicles from citizens in some areas of Kabul. However, the Taliban have a mystery that this is the work of criminal elements and the Taliban do not do so.
